PROUDLY SUPPORTED BY FOUR LOCAL ENTITIES ENSURING SWRA REMAINS A STRONG PART OF OUR TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND SERVING COMMUNITY
While the City of Kelso is the owner (Sponsor) of the Southwest Washington Regional Airport (SWRA), an Airport Operating Board made up of four members representing the City of Kelso, City of Longview, Cowlitz County, and Port of Longview oversee all operational aspects of the airport through an inter-local agreement between all four entities. Through the inter-local agreement, SWRA operates as a stand-alone entity except where the airport owner is responsible for conforming to all applicable FAA and WSDOT regulations, design standards, and grant assurances. All four entities serving on the Airport Operating Board provide financial support making SWRA unique in having such strong support from the community. This support over the years has made it possible for SWRA to make critical improvements to infrastructure as well as maintain safe and reliable operations year-round. This strong partnership has transformed the airport and created an aerial gateway to the community that will serve its businesses and residents for decades to come.
