Southwest Washington Regional Airport (SWRA)
staff hosted BBQ was a success! This event,
Tenant Appreciation Day, was held to show
our appreciation of the Airport’s tenants.
Staff would like to thank the FBO’s, Civil
Air Patrol, Experimental Aircraft
Association, Economic Development Council,
tenants, pilots, and visiting pilots for
joining in the fun on July 10, 2015.
Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue (C2FR)
conducted Fire Extinguisher Training for the City of
Kelso Employees at the Southwest
Washington Regional Airport on
April 15, 2015. C2FR provided a quick training
overview of fire extinguishers
and the practical application of
fighting a fire.

Annual Northwest Aviation Conference & Trade Show
Southwest Washington Regional Airport (SWRA) Kelso, WA:
Kelso Airport was
represented at the 32nd Annual Northwest
Aviation Conference and Tradeshow (2015).
Airport staff was there to
promote the Kelso Airport at this year's Aviation
at the Washington State
Fair Expo Center in Puyallup, WA.
Many of our Kelso Airport
pilots and tenants drove and/or flew to the tradeshow.
It was a great event that
was very well-attended!
On Tuesday August 5, 2014, Civil Air Patrol Cadets
painted Southwest Washington Regional Airport’s

Senator Maria Cantwell visited the Southwest Washington
Regional Airport on June 30, 2014. During the visit, she
was briefed on the Capital Improvement Program, by
Sharon Zimmerman (interim manager), and the business
activities which are generated from use of the airport.
George Ford, US Cellular/Navigate Wireless, gave Senator
Cantwell a brief tour of his airplane, which he uses to
service his network of US Cellular Stores. Warren
Longden, Long Air Custom Helicopter Services, Inc., gave
the Senator a briefing on the other business-related
uses for corporate jets. Representatives from the Port
of Longview, Cowlitz County, Cities of Kelso and
Longview, and the Cowlitz EDC also attended the
briefing, which was held at the EAA Chapter 1111
On August 13, 2014, Cowlitz 2
Fire and Rescue and Life Flight Services conducted
Emergency Response training at the Southwest Washington
Regional Airport. Firefighters and Life Flight Network
crews trained together to perform a 911 drill on the
proper loading techniques of patients from gurneys into
a helicopter, learn more about the potential hazards
that can be involved during emergency scenarios, and to
improve the overall Community Response time related to a
